Meet Sunny
Head Pastry Chef
Chez Christophe
Sunny was born in Korea and moved to Canada at the age of 14, where she grew up in Langley, B.C. Her love for baking began at an early age spending time at home in the kitchen with her mother. After graduating from the baking and pastry arts program in 2014 from VCC, Sunny began her journey by joining highly touted and award-winning businesses Ganache Patisserie and Market by Jean-Georges at the Shangri-la in Vancouver, where she had the opportunity to learn from decorated master chefs. In 2018, Sunny completed her baking apprentice program and received her red seal.
Sunny joined the Chez Christophe team in 2016 and since then has impressed us with her passion, creativity and dedication to the pastry world, becoming our Head Pastry Chef in 2021. Sunny loves to be innovative with her recipes and strives to come up with fresh, new concepts. Her creativity comes from combining different flavours from her hometown with Chez Christophe’s Swiss flair. One of Sunny’s most recent and unique creations is the “Croissant Cube” - a classic croissant in the shape of a cube, filled with various flavours daily. This trendy concept has become viral on both Instagram and Tiktok and is now one of Chez Christophe’s most popular items.
When Sunny is not baking up a storm in the kitchen you can find her spending time and relaxing with her animal babies. She has 2 lovely dogs named Charcoal and Dotori and a cat named Meow.
